	TWU Local 1400 vs. Port Authority of N.Y. & N.J.: 1996-97 With CCI's help, this 1,000-member local, under attack on two separate (but related) fronts, scored a come-from-behind victory. The Port Authority was pushing its plan to privatize the International Arrivals Building at John F. Kennedy Airport, which would cost the jobs of 139 members. At the same time, the Port Authority was taking a hard line in contract negotiations and demanding unprecedented concessions from the rest of the members.
